Photographs at a Beach in Cornwall

One of the best things about getting married in Cornwall is the bride and groom have the option to have photographs taken on a beach after the wedding ceremony and the wedding breakfast. The couple in the beach shot above were married at Scorrier House near Redruth, the beach we went to for their photographs was Porth beach near St Agnes. This beautiful area of Cornwall also features an iconic tin mine which is the backdrop for another photograph in this collection.

The Best time for Wedding Photos on a Beach

This very much depends on the weather on the day of the wedding, after all no couples want to have masses of people in the background of their wedding photos taken on a beach.

Beach Wedding Photography on a Sunny Day

If the weather, on the wedding day, is sunny I always take the newly weds to the beach as late as possible to avoid crowded beaches. The time between the end of the wedding breakfast and the start of the evening fun is ideal.

Avid beach goers will usually leave the beach after a day of sunshine between 6 and 7pm. When the weather is overcast timing is not such an issue.

Beach Wedding Photographs - Unpredictable Weather

If the weather is changeable I always take the bride and groom for their beach wedding photo shoot as soon as possible in case of the risk of rain later on; after the wedding ceremony and drinks then take a trip to your favourite beach.

Getting to the Beach for Your Photos - Bride & Groom Only

I often take the bride and groom to the beach of their choice myself. However sometimes the bride and groom want the bridal party on the beach so they can be involved in their beach wedding photography.

Sometimes the bride and groom like to have their own photos on a beach but also have photographs taken at a beach with the bridesmaids, best man and parents.

In this case the bride and groom need to arrange for transport to the beach, ideally before the wedding day, for the bridal party. I say before the wedding day to be on the safe side so people know not to drink as they will be driving if going to the beach after the wedding reception.
